Ayane Kurai is a New York-based artist who works primarily with oil on canvas. Originally from Japan, Ayane has been living and working in New York City for 35 years and has exhibited at BOS since 2007. As an abstract painter, her use of bold colors in viscous strokes reflects the humanity she finds, and is inspired by, in her everyday life.

After more than a half of my life, many of the pets I have had and some people I have met have left for heaven before me. Each one has become a light in my heart and still shines with memories. Life repeats it and my heart will be filled up with flowers of tender lights. The Universe is full of such lights.
