Brandon Dean is a Brooklyn-based artist who works under the name RØM. Born in 1985 and self-taught, he splits his practice between painting and electronic music production, and his website presents the two strands side by side, organizing his output into paintings, works on paper, and techno. His own framing of the work runs through recurring subjects — demons, lovers, monsters, spirits, nightmares, and dreams — rendered in a direct, expressive painting style. All of his paintings are made available for sale directly through his site, with inquiries handled by the artist, and he shares new work through his Instagram account, @rom_works.
