Damien Mitchell is an Australian-born muralist and street artist based in Brooklyn, New York, known for large-scale, often photorealistic wall paintings. He grew up in rural Australia, spent eight years in Prague before relocating permanently to New York City, and began as a stencil artist before shifting to freehand mural work once given larger walls in the city. His murals appear across more than twenty countries, including painted walls at 5Pointz in New York, and he has held a solo exhibition, Tools of the Trade, at Low Brow Artique. He works both through sanctioned commissions and unsanctioned street pieces, describing street art as a voice for social commentary.
