Daniel Arsham is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City known for sculptural work he calls fictional archaeology, recasting everyday objects as eroded relics in materials such as volcanic ash, selenite, and crystal. Born in Cleveland and raised in Miami, he trained at the Cooper Union on a full scholarship, later co-founding the Miami exhibition space The House before being represented by Galerie Perrotin. In 2007 he co-founded the architecture and design practice Snarkitecture with Alex Mustonen. His work has been exhibited at MoMA PS1, MoMA, and the New Museum, and he has collaborated with choreographer Merce Cunningham and brands including Dior and Tiffany & Co.
