Echo Yun Chen

echo yun chen is a multidisciplinary artist based in bk, ny. you'll mostly find her doing set design, illustration, photography, or experimenting with mixing mediums. in her work she hopes to capture light, sparkle, and lots of colors and textures — she believes that the key to art is play, and in that the discovery of the magic in every day things all around us. when she's not in the studio you can find her hosting community arts events with her pal renee chang over at @pengyou.nyc

through my work, whether it be photography, illustration, or another creative medium, i hope to tell moving stories and spread joy. i'm inspired by the way we interact with our environment, the uniqueness of individual people, the organic beauty of nature, and overall, creation. one of my dreams is to use illustration and spatial design to make environmental justice and sustainability education accessible and fun for kids (and people of all ages!) a few things i love: LOVE, funky colorful design, campfires, environmental justice, happy summer music, climbing rocks and being in the ocean, alternative education, and creative collaboration.
