I work in oil and am resolutely a figurative painter. Though I focused on portraiture for several years, my current interest lies in how body language can express the unsayable. I’m drawn less to traditional academic figure painting than to charged bodies as sites of conflict: under pressure, in flux, off-balance — the body in relation to power, history, and myth.
