Fred Rosenberg
OtherFred Rosenberg is a visual artist based in Gowanus, Brooklyn, who takes part in Gowanus Open Studios, the annual weekend when neighborhood artists open their studios to the public. His work leans toward ambiguous, open-ended sculptural forms; he has described one piece, Sileage #1, by asking whether it reads as "giant alien marshmallows" or their "brobdingnagian egg capsules," and linking it to an ancient agrarian practice crossed with modern science, or an update of the old photographic "white teacup" exercise. Rather than explain the work outright, Rosenberg invites visitors into his studio to encounter the pieces directly and draw their own conclusions.
