Genna Howard is a painter, tattooer, and ceramicist based in Gowanus, Brooklyn, who grew up in uptown Manhattan and earned a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in 2014. They have worked in tattooing since 2012 and completed an apprenticeship with Steve Pedone at Fun City Tattoo in Manhattan in 2021, specializing in American traditional, fineline, and illustrative styles that draw on cartoons and classic Old American flash. Howard runs Nine Lives, a private tattoo studio and multidisciplinary creative space in south Brooklyn, and also teaches ceramics at BKLYN Clay and other studios around New York.
