Hey Clay is a community pottery studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn, founded by Cauvery Patel, who turned to ceramics as a mindful hobby after the pandemic and found local studios expensive and hard to access. She opened the roughly 1,750-square-foot studio, on the ground floor of a mixed-use building, with a soft opening in October 2025, funding kilns, wheels, and shelving through a crowdfunding campaign. The studio offers memberships, punchcard packages, wheel-throwing and hand-building instruction, private sessions, kids' programs, and open studio hours, with a stated mission of making pottery accessible and promoting community wellbeing.
