Liam Kelly
Ceramics / PotteryLiam Kelly (they/them) is a queer and trans artist based in Brooklyn. They create handbuilt ceramic objects that move between function and expressive form. Their work ranges from everyday mugs and vessels to sculptural lamps and one of a kind pieces, all made with an emphasis on use, material, and process. Rooted in accessible, contemporary design, each piece is intended to be lived with and used in daily life. In and outside the studio, Liam shares knowledge through teaching, collaboration and open dialogue, with the goal of building a more inclusive and supportive ceramics community.
Liam's Goods makes functional ceramics that earn their place on a table or a shelf. The work is playful without being precious, and designed with both hands and eyes in mind. Each piece is hand-built, glazed, and fired in Liam's studio in Greenpoint. Liam's Goods works primarily in stoneware, chosen for its durability and the way it takes glaze. All pieces are food-safe and dishwasher-friendly and are made to be used, not displayed.
