Lougè Delcy, also known as Dapper Lou, is a Brooklyn-born, Haitian-American photographer and visual artist based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and the founder of the creative collective Dapper Studios. Self-taught, he built his career capturing portraits and documentary-style images informed by his Haitian heritage and Brooklyn upbringing, traveling to places including Cuba, Zanzibar, and Kenya to photograph communities such as the Maasai. His commercial clients have included Christian Louboutin, Apple, and Nars, and his subjects have included cultural figures such as Lauryn Hill and Jodie Turner-Smith. His most personal project, The Black Voyage, is a National Geographic documentary following his return to Kenya to reconnect with the Maasai community, and he has since launched a creative space in Lisbon and a traveling gallery, Galerie Lougé.
