PaintingThese paintings are based on moments from everyday life — things I noticed without meaning to, places and times that stayed in memory. The distances I look at are between a person and a landscape, a person and an object, even a person and the food they eat. I am especially drawn to scenes of meals, where closeness and separation exist side by side. They are not about telling those stories, but about looking at the sense of distance they leave behind — a distance that holds both the heaviness of loss and the clarity that follows it. I want to leave space for viewers to find their own connections.
