Natasha May Platt is a muralist based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, who works under the name Surface of Beauty painting large-scale floral and botanical murals. Originally from Delaware and a graduate of Harvard College in philosophy and religion, she worked in Kolkata, India, on textile and embroidery design for designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee before returning to New York and settling in Bushwick, where the neighborhood's murals inspired her shift into painting professionally. Her murals, which draw on textile-design patterns, have been commissioned by organizations including City Harvest and companies such as Google and Netflix, and appear across New York City as well as in Miami, Charlotte, Yonkers, St. Louis, Mexico, and the British Virgin Islands.
