Nicholas Rynearson

Nicholas Rynearson’s artistic practice includes assemblage, collage, drawing, and painting, as well as conceptual work. He regularly uses a reduced visual vocabulary to focus on formal elements and explore the material qualities of the media he works with. Found objects and non-decorative materials feature prominently and provide parameters within which individual works or series unfold. His work also draws inspiration from careful observation of art history, in particular the movements emerging from and responding to abstract expressionism.
