Rebecca Davison received a Master of Fine Art in Fiber from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Fiber from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her career has spanned commercial display, product design, and fine art. She worked for Anthropologie and Co. in New York City, NY, and Palo Alto, CA, creating, building, and installing large-scale installation-based window and store displays. She currently works for Craftspring as the visual designer of photography and designer of embroidered homegoods and holiday ornaments. Born and raised in New Hampshire, Rebecca, currently works and lives in Brooklyn, NY. This show highlights a collection of work called Bobby D, named after her late father, Robert Davison. She found a box of his drawings from elementary and middle school and incorporated elements of them into her own embroidery and wallpaper designs.

I utilize installation, painting, and written narrative to investigate family heritage, faith, and personal loss. My writing - drawn from dreams and memories - forms a structure of visual imagery which is incorporated into gouache paintings and mixed media installations. In these wall-mounted installations, I use objects from my ancestral home, symbols of Pentecostal faith, nature, and death to transform my paintings into devotional spaces exploring the tactile connections between past and present and the gray area of once held truths.
