
SHEHERZAD PREISLER
Ceramics / PotterySheherzad Raza Preisler is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker and ceramicist based in Greenpoint. A native New Yorker of Pakistani Muslim and European Jewish heritage, she studied Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African studies at Columbia University before working as a cinematographer, director, and editor. Her short film "Zero" was recognized at the Best Shorts Competition, and "Saint Marks" premiered at Queer Voices: New York City. Her films often engage with the complexities of growing up Muslim in post-9/11 America, using satire to unsettle stereotypes. She also hand-builds and wheel-throws ceramics, donating a portion of sales to causes including Palestinian aid and anti-ICE efforts.
