Studio Baldo is a contemporary lighting design studio exploring the intersection of sculpture, architecture, and light. Each piece is conceived as both a functional object and a sculptural presence that shapes atmosphere and spatial experience. Rooted in a minimalist and architectural language, the work emphasizes balance, proportion, and refined material expression. Through precise geometries and carefully considered materials, Studio Baldo creates lighting that blurs the boundary between design and sculpture, treating light as a medium that transforms both object and space.

Studio Baldo is a New York based design studio dedicated to crafting contemporary lighting objects with soul, purpose, and integrity. Each piece is designed and prototyped in our Brooklyn studio, then produced through a global network of artisans. Components are crafted by hand, pre-assembled and finished to order. We create enduring objects that transform through presence, reflecting a timeless exploration of material and form. We work primarily with solid brass, natural stone, glass, and hardwoods. Each material is chosen for its character, durability, and the way it changes over time. We explore the relationship between natural materials and their integrity, how they interact with scale, space, and their surroundings. Our pieces are made to last. Our purpose goes beyond design. We partner with artisan communities by providing tools, equipment, and technical support that allow traditional skills and time-honored processes to evolve with greater precision, efficiency, and autonomy. Through ethical manufacturing practices, fair compensation, and long-term investment in our collaborators, Studio Baldo merges refined design with lasting impact, creating objects that illuminate both spaces and futures.
