ZERA is a self-taught, Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist and designer with more than a decade of experience in art and design, having entered the design industry at eighteen and later completed a degree in advertising and communications design focused on 3D and creative technology. Raised in New York City around graffiti, hip hop, and street art culture, she paints in acrylics and spray paint, produces hand-cut woodcuts, and makes mixed-media and blacklight-reactive work, often centered on her recurring character SkiGurl, born from graffiti and pop aesthetics. Her paintings, murals, and commissions have appeared in shows in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, including Bushwick Open Studios and the Secret Walls live-painting battles, with custom work for clients such as musician Lil Jon. She also works as a branding and illustration designer under the name Zera Studios.

Raised in New York City and surrounded by the whims and culture of the graffiti, hip hop, and street art scene growing up, ZERA's works are heavily influenced by the urban scenery of New York and the city's median between grit and luxury. Today, she remains on a constant pursuit to push the boundaries of pop, urban and contemporary art laced with her own ironic twist. Outside of her personal work, ZERA works as an active designer and illustrator with a focus on branding and creative direction. She has designed for various industries, businesses, independent brands and artists primarily in the fields of print, branding, fashion/accessory design and digital illustration. With 10+ years of professional experience, entering the industry as a designer at the young age of 18 granted her a deepened exploration working as various titles across the field, dependent on the project and position. Her early industry work later led her to completing her professional degree in Advertising & Communications Design with an additional focus in 3D and Creative Technology, learning media-based technologies such as frontend UX | UI for web/applications and motion graphics, outside of 3D modeling & a multitude of 3D design applications. She has since Co-Founded & cultivated several more of her own passion projects, some becoming globally known, many remaining underground.
