A Hug From The Art World is a Chelsea gallery founded by Adam Cohen, a former Gagosian director, that began as an itinerant pop-up before settling into a permanent space on West 19th Street. Known for a playful, offbeat sensibility, it has staged historically minded shows, including a recreation of painter Alan Davie's 1965 studio for a New York survey of his work, the artist's first in the city in nearly two decades. Its rotating program has also featured solo exhibitions by artists such as David Miretsky and Summer Wheat, with the gallery open to the public Tuesday through Saturday.
