ACA Galleries is a New York gallery founded in 1932 by Herman Baron along with modernist artists Stuart Davis and Yasuo Kuniyoshi, making it one of the city's earliest galleries dedicated exclusively to American art. It hosted the inaugural meetings of the American Artists' Congress in 1935 and became known for showing socially conscious work by artists including Alice Neel, Barnett Newman, and David Smith. Over nine decades the gallery has mounted more than 800 exhibitions and published over 400 catalogues. Today, operating from two Chelsea locations, ACA represents artists working in narrative figuration, including Kandy G. Lopez and Doowon Lee, and participates in fairs such as The Armory Show.
