Alexandre Gallery
Art galleryAlexandre Gallery is a Manhattan gallery founded in 1996 as Alexandre Fine Art and directed by Philippe Alexandre. Based on the Upper East Side with a second space in Rockport, Maine, the gallery represents and exhibits contemporary American artists while specializing in early twentieth-century American modernism, with particular attention to Stieglitz circle artists such as Oscar Bluemner, Arthur Dove, Marsden Hartley, John Marin, and Georgia O'Keeffe. Its roster and inventory have included figures such as Milton Avery, Stuart Davis, Charles Demuth, and Jacob Lawrence, and the gallery also handles consignments, sales, and appraisals of early twentieth-century modernist works; recent exhibitions include 'Emily Nelligan: Cranberry Island.'
