Chambers Fine Art is a New York gallery specializing in contemporary Chinese art, established in Chelsea in 2000 by Christophe W. Mao and named after Sir William Chambers, the eighteenth-century British architect known as a leading exponent of Chinese principles in garden design. The gallery has presented first U.S. solo exhibitions for artists including Lu Shengzhong, Qiu Zhijie, and Hong Lei, and sponsored China's first pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2005. In 2007 it opened a Beijing space in the Caochangdi district designed by artist Ai Weiwei, and in 2008 it added ArtFarm, a storage and exhibition space in rural Salt Point, New York. Its program alternates monographic exhibitions of established Chinese artists with thematic group shows of emerging talent.
