CITYarts is a New York City nonprofit that pairs professional artists with young people to create public art such as murals and mosaics. Founded in 1989 by Tsipi Ben-Haim, the organization expanded its mission after September 11 to foster cross-cultural understanding among youth worldwide. Programs including Community Identity, Global HeART Warming, Young Minds Build Bridges, Kids for Justice, and Pieces for Peace have engaged more than 100,000 young people and 600 artists across over 380 completed public art projects, with workshops conducted in more than 120 countries and volunteer participation exceeding 200,000.
