Art galleryClaire Oliver Gallery is a contemporary art gallery operating from a four-story brownstone in Central Harlem, near 135th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard. Founded roughly 30 years ago and previously based in Florida, Philadelphia, and Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, the gallery relocated to Harlem in 2020. Under owner Claire Oliver, it works exclusively in the primary market, focusing on underrepresented voices including LGBTIQ, Indigenous, and Black and brown artists, among them textile artist Simone Elizabeth Saunders and painter Gio Swaby. Since its Harlem opening, the gallery has placed roughly 300 artworks with institutions such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Brooklyn Museum.
