Dare2Draw is a nonprofit creative community for cartoonists, comic-book creators, illustrators, and animators, built on the idea that no artist should have to figure it out alone. Founded by Charles SincerØ, with roots dating to 1984, the organization was formally established in 2009 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2012. It runs live drawing sessions, Quick Draw competitions, and mentorship panels featuring comics-industry figures such as Joe Kubert, Neal Adams, and Amy Reeder, at venues including the Society of Illustrators and the Art Students League. Dare2Draw is developing Dare2Draw Studios, a dedicated studio space planned for the Gowanus area of Brooklyn, and is listed in the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs directory of cultural organizations.
