Dorsky Gallery Curatorial Programs
Art galleryDorsky Gallery Curatorial Programs is a nonprofit exhibition space in Long Island City, Queens, located near MoMA PS1. Rather than maintaining a single in-house curator, it invited outside curators, writers, and art historians to submit exhibition proposals, mounting three to four thematic shows a year for a broad public audience; work on view was not for sale. Housed in a modern, column-free space with two separate galleries, it also served as exhibition space for area colleges that lack their own art museums. After nearly two decades of exhibitions, Dorsky Gallery has announced that it is ending its program and closing its Long Island City space.
