Franklin Parrasch Gallery is an Upper East Side gallery founded in 1986, originally in Washington, D.C., before relocating to New York, and is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America. Its program has centered on Los Angeles artists whose careers emerged in the 1960s and who developed a Minimalist aesthetic independently of their East Coast peers, with exhibitions exploring West Coast subcultures such as hot-rodding and surfing and how those sensibilities shaped the work. The gallery represents artists including Peter Voulkos, Billy Al Bengston, John Altoon, Forrest Bess, and Marcia Hafif, and continues to present thematic group shows alongside solo exhibitions of both established and emerging figures.
