Freight+Volume is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2003 by Nick Lawrence, now based in a 2,800-square-foot storefront in Tribeca, Manhattan. The gallery represents emerging and mid-career artists working across a range of media, with a particular interest in narrative and text-based work, and states that its guiding criterion for showing an artist is the quality of the work itself rather than any fixed technique, content, or style. Freight+Volume has built its program around discovering and nurturing developing artistic talent, mounting a rotating slate of exhibitions out of its Tribeca space.
