Gerald Peters Gallery was founded in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1972 by Gerald Peters, who became Georgia O'Keeffe's exclusive dealer in 1976 and represented her until her death in 1986. The gallery later expanded to a Manhattan location alongside its original Santa Fe space. Its historic program specializes in American Modernist paintings and sculpture, representing artists such as O'Keeffe, Paul Manship, Gaston Lachaise, and William Zorach, while a contemporary program established in 2014 represents artists including Patrick Dean Hubbell and Maurice Burns, whose work examines intersections of Black American and Western narratives.
