Marc Straus is a contemporary art gallery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, with a second space in Tribeca opened in 2024. It was founded in 2011 by Marc Straus, a former oncologist and professor of medicine who practiced for 35 years before turning full-time to art. He and his wife Livia began collecting contemporary art in the 1960s and in 2002 founded what is now Hudson Valley MOCA in Peekskill, New York. The gallery represents more than thirty contemporary artists from roughly eighteen countries, ranging from emerging talents to established figures such as Hermann Nitsch and Sandro Chia, and has introduced artists including Jeffrey Gibson and Anne Samat to US audiences. Works by its artists are held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, the Guggenheim, and the Whitney. In 2026, marking its fifteenth anniversary, the gallery merged with Swivel Gallery.
