Peg Alston Fine Arts is a private art dealership run by Peg Alston, who entered the New York art world in 1969 as a council member of the Studio Museum in Harlem and later worked as publicity director for Cinque Gallery before founding her own gallery in the 1970s, following an earlier career as a social worker. The gallery specializes in art by African American artists and other artists of African descent, alongside select traditional African sculpture, and has championed twentieth-century figures such as Aaron Douglas, William H. Johnson, Charles White, and Elizabeth Catlett as well as contemporary artists including Sam Gilliam, Betye Saar, Faith Ringgold, and Stanley Whitney. Based on Manhattan's Upper West Side, Alston has organized seminars on collecting African American art and belongs to the Art Dealers Association of America, the Association of Women Art Dealers, and ArtTable.
