Polish Filmmakers NYC is a monthly Polish film screening series founded in 2012 by filmmaker and curator Agata Drogowska after she identified a need to raise awareness of Polish cinema in New York. The series launched with a free three-day program, 'The New Generation of Polish Filmmakers,' presented in partnership with the Polish organization Studio Munka and including the New York premiere of Women's Day, directed by Maria Sadowska. On its one-year anniversary, the series held a sold-out three-day program, 'Different Ages, Different Voices: Polish Women in Film,' opening at the Museum of Modern Art. Screenings have also been held at the Tribeca Film Center, and the initiative has drawn support from the Polish Film Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute New York, and New York Women in Film & Television.
