Tempest Gallery is an artist-run exhibition space in Ridgewood, Queens, operating out of One Eyed Studios within the Rockella Space complex near the Bushwick border. Launched in 2024 with an inaugural show by James Baker, Christopher Baker, and Defne Tutus, the gallery mounts monthly exhibitions centered on textiles, sculpture, and installation, often engaging colonial histories, climate change, and cultural identity. A 2024 group show, "It must be nice to fall in love," featuring textile work by Raisa Kabir, Katherine Earle, and Leila Seyedzadeh, was reviewed in Hyperallergic. The gallery describes its aim as creating community and space for gathering around difficult conversations in art. Tempest is open Wednesday through Saturday, with additional visits by appointment via Instagram.
