Art galleryThomas Erben Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, Manhattan, founded by dealer Thomas Erben, who began as a private dealer in 1989 and staged exhibitions from his own space starting in 1993. He opened a gallery in SoHo in 1996, with an inaugural installation by Senga Nengudi, before relocating to Chelsea in 2000. The program is multidisciplinary and internationally oriented, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, film, and performance, and has included artists' US debut exhibitions for figures such as Helena Almeida, Chitra Ganesh, and Adrian Piper. Represented artists include Lucas Blalock, Mike Cloud, Ada Friedman, and Rose Wylie, with works placed in collections including MoMA, the Whitney, and the Guggenheim.
