Van Der Plas Gallery is a Lower East Side, Manhattan gallery devoted to outsider, street, and contemporary art. It was founded by Adriaan Van Der Plas, who emigrated from Vienna to New York in 1973 and has run the gallery for decades, moving from Gramercy Park to its current Orchard Street home. The program spans art brut and outsider art alongside modern, contemporary, indigenous, visionary, graffiti, and folk work by local and international artists, including Al Diaz, Kevin Wendall (FA-Q), Juan Carlos Pinto, Alejandro Caiazza, and Jason McLean, as well as artists from Creedmoor Psychiatric Center. The gallery also runs "All Art+," a recurring themed group-show series inviting artists to present new work for a week at a time.
