When familiar cycles change due to climate catastrophe how does this disrupt access to memory and the bonds we’ve formed with others? In order to tackle this topic, I have enlisted a collection of mediums; colored pencil drawing on silk, oil on copper, and seaweed bioplastic sculpture. Come by my studio to check out my work and explore these topics with me.

Agnes Lin is a multidisciplinary artist working and living in New York. She was born and raised in San Diego and received her BA in Art from UCLA. Through the mediums of drawing, painting, photography, fiber arts and sculpture Agnes investigates relationships between diaspora, climate disaster, and life cycles. In her drawings and paintings she compares grotesque, intimate details of the body to the industrial environments that house them. Agnes employs landscape photography, portraiture and cyanotype printing techniques to adapt her grandfathers Chinese paintings to her diasporic needs. The images and objects she creates are often fractured and rearrangeable, a reflection of rapidly changing cultures, ecosystems and life cycles.
