EVera Studio
Ceramics / PotteryEVera Studio is the ceramics practice of Brooklyn artist Ed Vera, based in Greenpoint. The studio produces hand-built, one-of-a-kind sculptural and functional pottery, including vessels, lighting, and tableware, worked primarily in porcelain, stoneware, and resin, with experimental glazing techniques. According to the artist's own statement, the work draws inspiration from nature, mythology, pets, and pop culture, balancing softness and structure, whimsy and reverence, the handmade and the otherworldly. Recognizable pieces include porcelain urchin-shaped lamps and beetle-form mugs. Vera has shown work through Greenpoint Open Studios, an annual event in which local artists open their workspaces to the public.
