Jana Liptak is a Brooklyn-based muralist and scenic painter who earned an MFA in painting in Edinburgh, Scotland, and worked as an artist-in-residence with the Scottish arts education NGO Room 13 in Fort William, Scotland, and at Shikshayatan School in Tamil Nadu, India. She relocated to Brooklyn in 2009, where she is a professional scenic artist with United Scenic Artists Local 829 and runs a decorative-surfaces fabrication business. Since 2015 she has pursued public art commissions across the Northeast and internationally, including the 'Herons in Love' mural for Atlanta's BeltLine, a burrowing-owl mural for the Audubon Mural Project, and the 'Their Survival is Our Survival' series in White Plains and Kingston, NY.
