Jennifer Prevatt is a New York-based interdisciplinary artist, children’s book illustrator, and educator. She graduated in 2010 with a BA in Scientific Illustration, then spent the subsequent 8 years abroad, obtaining her MFA from Newcastle University, England in 2014. Her work is influenced by motifs and archetypes found in fairy tales and mythology, which she uses to investigate themes of sexuality, mortality and transformation.

Jennifer's work is influenced by psychological concepts found in fairy tales and mythology, which she uses to investigate themes of sexuality, mortality, and transformation. Her current work focuses on motifs and archetypes associated with death, the underworld, and the journey of the descent, which she represents through a sense of fluidity, security, and abstracted, distorted, or idealized visions of beauty. She experiments with large-scale installations and small book art, sculpture, and illustration projects.
