NikkiOrt is the practice of Brooklyn-based multimedia artist Nikki Ortolani, who works in acrylic and watercolor painting, printmaking, and photography. Her process is guided by mindfulness, drawing on colors, shapes, and patterns to explore parallels between the internal workings of the mind and body and the external beauty and logic of the natural world. Beyond her studio practice, she tutors children in art, craft, mindfulness, and movement, and describes her aim as bringing art to everyday people by collaborating with other artists and creators. Her studio is part of the Gowanus, Brooklyn arts community, where she is listed in a local artist directory.

Her primary goal is to create art mindfully – inspired by colors, shapes, patterns and intangible feelings from past experiences and the present moment. Her work explores similarities between the internal workings of our mind and bodies and the external beauty, logic, and chaos of nature. She also enjoys tutoring and working with children on arts and craft projects, mindfulness, and movement.
