Paperfinger is the Brooklyn-based contemporary calligraphy studio of Bryn Chernoff, a former computer scientist who founded the business from her living room in 2009. Working across custom lettering, wedding and event commissions, greeting cards, and stationery, Paperfinger blends the discipline of traditional calligraphy with an original, less rule-bound aesthetic. The independent, woman-owned studio has also produced "Paper Mail," a publication project, and has participated in Gowanus Open Studios. Chernoff's work and teaching, including online calligraphy classes, have been featured in outlets such as The New York Times, Martha Stewart Weddings, Real Simple, and Town & Country.
