The Active Space
OtherThe Active Space is an artist-studio building and gallery in Bushwick, Brooklyn, housing thirty-seven private studios inside a converted three-story former feather factory more than a century old. Artists gain admission through a juried application process meant to ensure both craft quality and professional commitment, and the building includes a roughly 1,600-square-foot gallery for member and guest exhibitions. The space regularly hosts open studios and community events where resident artists share their process with Bushwick's wider arts scene, and it describes a strong sense of community among tenants, who are able to exhibit and organize shows within the building.
