303 Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, Manhattan, founded in 1984 by Lisa Spellman, who remains its director; the gallery's name references its original downtown address, itself an homage to Alfred Stieglitz's Intimate Gallery inside the Anderson Galleries building. After early stints in the East Village and Soho, where Spellman worked with artists including Christopher Wool and Robert Gober, the gallery became one of the first to move to Chelsea in 1996. It now represents an international roster of artists working across photography, painting, film, and installation, including Doug Aitken, Mary Heilmann, Dan Graham, and Tala Madani.
