Acquavella Galleries is a family-owned gallery founded in the early 1920s by Nicholas Acquavella, now in its third generation of leadership following Bill Acquavella's arrival in 1960 and the later additions of his children Eleanor, Nick, and Alexander. Originally focused on Italian Renaissance and Old Master paintings, the program expanded under Bill Acquavella to encompass Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Cubist, and Surrealist works, and later postwar and contemporary art, representing figures from Cezanne and Picasso to de Kooning and Warhol alongside living artists such as Miquel Barcelo and Tom Sachs. The gallery is based in a landmark townhouse on East 79th Street on Manhattan's Upper East Side, open by appointment, with a second location in Palm Beach, Florida.
