The Art Students League of New York is an art school founded in 1875 and based since 1892 in the American Fine Arts Society Building on West 57th Street in Manhattan. Known as a birthplace of American art education, the League has never granted degrees or grades, instead offering open studio access to students regardless of background. It offers a Certificate Track and an atelier-style Independent Track alongside classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media for children, teens, and adults, plus workshops and open sketch sessions. The League exhibits work in its on-site Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery and hosts public programs, lectures, and its annual League Comic Fest.
