A.I.R. Gallery (Artists in Residence) is a feminist, artist-directed nonprofit arts organization and alternative exhibition space for women and non-binary artists. Founded in 1972, it is the longest-running alternative space dedicated to women artists in the United States, first operating on Wooster Street in Manhattan before moving to its current home on Plymouth Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn, where it has been based for nearly two decades. Alongside exhibitions by its New York-based, national, and alumni members, A.I.R. runs a Fellowship Program for emerging artists, a Commissioning Program, and public programming, and is currently planning a return to Manhattan's West Village in the Federal Archive Building.
