Hannah Traore Gallery
Art galleryHannah Traore Gallery is a contemporary art gallery on New York's Lower East Side, opened in January 2022 by gallerist Hannah Traore, who had previously worked at MoMA's Black Arts Council and at Fotografiska. Traore, who grew up in Toronto surrounded by West African art and photography, founded the gallery to advocate for artists historically marginalized from mainstream art narratives, with programming centered on artists of color and the African diaspora. Known for pairing exhibitions with fashion collaborations and community-oriented programming, the gallery debuted with a show by photographer Hassan Hajjaj and has since been covered by publications including Hyperallergic and L'Officiel.
