The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum, commonly known as the Noguchi Museum, is a museum and sculpture garden in Long Island City, Queens, established by Japanese American sculptor Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988), who opened it to the public in 1985 as the first museum founded by a living artist in the United States. The two-story, 24,000-square-foot museum, converted from a former factory building, preserves and exhibits Noguchi's sculpture, architectural models, stage designs, drawings, and furniture designs across twelve galleries. Major renovations completed in 2004 enabled year-round public access, and further stabilization work followed in 2008. In 2022 the museum received funding to restore Noguchi's original studio space and build additional archival storage.
