Kehila Kedosha Janina is the last Romaniote synagogue in the Western Hemisphere, located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, preserving nearly 2,300 years of Romaniote Jewish history and culture. Housed in a building erected in 1927 and restored to its original condition, it has been listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places and designated a New York City Landmark since 2004. Its active congregation still conducts weekly services in the traditional Romaniote liturgy, while the museum functions as a repository for Greek Jewish history, hosting lectures, book signings, film screenings, and concerts.
