Kravets Wehby Gallery
Art galleryKravets Wehby Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Manhattan's West Chelsea arts district, founded in 1996 by Susie Kravets and Marc Wehby, who met in 1995 while working at SoHo galleries — Kravets at John Weber Gallery and Wehby at Anina Nosei Gallery — and married soon after. It was the eighth gallery to open in Chelsea and built its program around bold, narrative, figurative work by emerging artists from international backgrounds. Over its history the gallery has championed artists including Kehinde Wiley, Nina Chanel Abney, Wangechi Mutu, and Mickalene Thomas early in their careers, and has placed work in institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
